The system focuses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy precisely within the targeted fat tissue (1.3 cm) of the abdomen and flanks, without harming the skin or surrounding tissues and organs.
This results in thermal coagulation of the fatty tissue within the focal area of the ultrasound beam. The damaged tissue and released triglycerides are phagocytosed and cleared by macrophages, which are attracted to the treatment area by chemotactic signals.
